Mexicans have a huge part in making up the population for Chicago today. The first few numbers of the Mexican immigration came in during the early 1900s, closer to 1910. They came for a few reasons, but mainly, they came because of the poor economic times during the Mexican Revolution during these times. This state of their departure doesn't really differ for the same reasons on why a lot of the mexican population leave their nation today. As they made their journey's over, they came with dreams of working in huge factories, which during these times, the industrial world was booming with business. When they arrived however, they were not put in industry work. They lacked experience and were therefore, put to work in the agricultural field. To this day, Mexican people are known for their work in this field. The early 1900s were somewhat rough for the mexican people who came for "A better life". One of these difficulties was finding homes for themselves.

Introduction

The Lyric Essay Represents a New Sub-Genre That at First Glance Seems Puzzling, For How Can Non-Fiction be a Creative Piece?

I stare out of the window, across the desolate fields that stretch into the distance. Brittle branches barely move in the stiff breeze; winter has descended upon the trees freezing them still. The gentle falling snow seduces me into a trance-like state. A pen sits lightly in my palm, rocking ever so slightly between my thumb and forefinger, barely tapping the oak desk I am seated behind. Writer's block consumes me. The concept of the lyric essay runs through my mind. What does it all mean? Where am I to begin?

There is no one definitive and clearly labeled box within which the term “lyric essay” can be placed into for this will mean many different things to many different writers (and readers for that matter), but for me it means a possibility to describe real events as I see them and as I choose to create them in my writing.

Perception is the way of interpreting sensory information by brain, and then gives an understanding about the object/ person we see. This essay will mainly focus on perception of sensory information from our eyes.

Basically, there are four principles of perception to explain how brain can interpret the information. They are: (1) Relativity of perception, (2) Selectivity of perception, (3) Perceptual organization and (4) Perceptual constancy. These four principles help to judge and value the object we see. Moreover, these four principles can be elaborated to judge and understand a person based on his/her appearance. Examples will be given based on each of four principles below.

The most interesting recent media ventures I see are Xbox Kinect, Siri on iPhone 4s and L. A. Noire. There is one thing in common. They are the new media technology that interacts with consumers. I think interactive media will be the future of the media industry.

First, let us talk about Xbox Kinect. The idea of full body gaming is just brilliant. It is a new way to play games. There is no controller required, because you are the controller. Kinect responds majorly to the gamer’s movement. It also recognizes simple voice orders such as, “play movies.” This system provides more interaction between the gamer and the game. It’s a bridge between virtual reality and the real world. I remember the first time I saw someone playing Fruit Ninja with Kinect, I was awed by the fluency of action translation this system. Imagine that in the future, we may play a game like Tron. How fascinating is that!

The aim of this paper is to trace the current issue of domestic violence in gay couples in the United States of America. To do so, this paper will be divided into three parts. The first part will introduce the matter and its definition. I will try to briefly define what same-sex domestic violence is. Let's examine the life expectancy of countries across the globe. The goal is to determine if life country expectancies at birth are related to the population growth. In determining the answer, a variety of variables will be researched and examined to determine the contributing factors. The life expectancy and population data will be measured by using statistics from the CIA Demographics data set which contains quantifiable statistics data for countries across the globe. Data from 30 or more countries, equally divided into categories of lower population, higher population, lower life expectancies, and higher life expectancies, will be examined and evaluated. Furthermore, literature reviews will be used aid in giving an in depth explanation of the resulting research.

The Problem
The problem is, although it is known, in countries like China, disease is a contributing factor of low life expectancies, it is also known that the high risk of disease in China is due to over population which is the cause of other concerning factors that have an impact on life expectancies. Could this be the fate for other countries in the world?

Chick Lit is Literature

Formula fiction and its genres are recognizable as being literature. Chick Literature is a sub-genre of woman’s fiction. This sub-genre can be considerate literature since it reflects the 3 common points of literature. Those criteria are respected in Chick Lit because there is a reflection of society and human experience through the protagonist of the story. Also the author’s voice is unique and the story is always engaging the reader by discussing a universal truth. Each one of them is clearly represented in the plot of a typical Chick lit story. These conventions are analyzed in Helen Fielding’s “Bridget Jones’s Diary”.
